Kamala me ha susurrado al oído que escuchara a Hindi.Parece ser un animal humano interesante.

El País dice esto de ella: De vigilante de sala en el museo del Louvre a cantante y compositora que seduce a casi todos los que la van descubriendo. En poco más de un año, y con un único disco, esta joven marroquí que vive en París se ha convertido en un pequeño acontecimiento musical. ‘Hand made’ (Hecho a mano) está grabado en el salón del apartamento alquilado en el que Hindi Zahra se encerró durante tres meses. Ella misma lo mezcló y lo produjo, y lo ha editado el sello de jazz Blue Note. Hindi Zahra no es una cantante de jazz, aunque la nostálgica ‘Beautiful tango’ se mueva entre la poliritmia norteafricana y el jazz de los años treinta. Soul, blues, folk, rock, chanson, música oriental... “En Marruecos tenemos la suerte de estar abiertos a otras culturas. Por nuestra situación geográfica, entre Occidente, África y Oriente, en una encrucijada”, dice. De Om Kalsoum, Ella Fitzgerald, Oumou Sangaré o Amalia Rodrigues a James Brown. Ella define su música como un cuscús o una paella, “la única imagen que me parece suficientemente clara”. Canta en inglés y en ‘tamazight’, su lengua materna. Porque es de origen bereber, aunque ese término no les gusta y ellos prefieren la palabra ‘amazigh’, que significa “hombres libres”. Se dice que la cultura poética 'amazigh' está próxima a los haikus japoneses. “Hay muchas metáforas. La naturaleza es una buena transfiguración de las emociones”.
